Editorial Policy
How we source, write, update and correct what we publish.
Sourcing
We prefer systematic reviews, meta-analyses, official health guidance and peer-reviewed research over single studies, press releases and marketing material. Where evidence is limited or contested, we say so instead of rounding it up into a confident claim. Sources are listed on the article or review itself.
Writing standards
- No guaranteed outcomes, miracle claims or before-and-after promises.
- No diagnosis or personalised medical advice.
- No shaming language about bodies, weight or willpower.
- Measurements in both metric and imperial where it helps.
- Plain English, written for readers in several countries.
Authors and reviewers
At launch we publish under the FitMomAndDad Editorial Team. We do not invent bylines, degrees or medical reviewers. If a qualified professional reviews a piece in future, their name and credentials will appear on that page.
Updates and corrections
Guides are meant to stay useful, so we revisit them as guidance and products change. Meaningful updates change the update date shown on the page; small typo fixes do not. If you spot an error, tell us — we correct promptly and note what changed when it is material.
Independence from affiliate income
Affiliate commissions never buy coverage, a favourable conclusion, or placement. Advertisers and merchants do not review our drafts. If a product is not worth buying, we say so, even where a link would earn us money. See the affiliate disclosure and how we review.
Drafts
Unpublished drafts are not visible to readers and are excluded from search engines.
